Dr. Yasir Khan

Dr. Yasir Khan is a physician with passion and expertise in health informatics. His informatics career started with development of smaller expert systems to support his clinical practice but immediately blossomed into various prominent roles across various geographies around the world. He completed his post graduate training in pediatrics with University Hospitals of Leicester and joined National Program of Health IT for NHS where he supported standardization of clinical documentation and CPOE. For past 12 years he has been based in Middle East in leadership roles for medium to large healthcare systems.

He was a clinical advisor to state of Qatar’s E-health program focusing on national strategy, later moving on work in similar roles for public health organizations in Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE. He currently functions as Lead Physician Executive for Ministry of Health, UAE, where he championed the initiatives such as “informatics driven clinical excellence”. His diverse background of clinical training, software engineering along with masters in health policy and economics enabled him to develop various award winning programs for better patient outcomes through information system (IS) transformations.
